Ecophalt Quality Assurance Specification(EQAS) 1.General   This specification applies to a construction work of road paving using ECOPHALT mixture. 2.Raw meterial   Coarse aggregate : Based on KSF 2357 Fine aggregate : based on KSF 2358 asphalt: Based on KSM 2201 and KSM 2208 3.Coloring : A predefined coloring by the authorities   Dark Brown Dark Red Black 4.Mix Ration of Ecophalt   Gradation of Aggregate Size Shieve Pass(%) 19M/M 100 13M/M 95¡­100 4.75M/M 10¡­31 2.36M/M 10¡­21 0.074M/M 2¡­7   Polymer modified agent(DAMA)   Needs to stably adhere to asphalt. Dye : There should be no problem in adhering to asphalt, and to be mineral-based dye. (if a coloring is required)   Mixing ratio   Additive(asphalt) : 4.5¡­5.5 of the weight of aggregate Dye(Each coloring) : 2¡­3% of the total mixture (if a coloring is required) Polymer modified agent(DAMA) : About 1% of the total mixture in weight 5.Reguirement of Ecophalt   ECOPHALT mixture will be tested according to the resistance test to plastic flow of a asphalt mixture using KSF 2337 marshall tester, and shall satisfy following criteria, Stability(Kgf)=over 500 Flowage(1/100§¯)=20¡­40 Water permiability(§¯/sec)=over 1.0×10-2     N.B.)Number of Compaction of the specimen is 50 times each side. 6.Manufacturing process   It should be manufactured by Hot Asphalt Mixing Plant, and Adding DAMA shall be added by manual or automatic control equipment. 7.Construction   Because the material is porous, the work has to be completed in a short period of time to control the temperature (use a finisher). To obtain a predefined density, second and third application have to be done after the first application. Compaction of the third layer shall be done at a temperature of over 90¡É, and traffic has to be allowed at a temperature of lower than 50¡É. 8.Test method   Testing aggregate: According to KSF 2357 and KSF 1247 Testing asphalt material: According to KSM 2201 and KSF 2208. Testing asphalt mixture: According to KSF 2337. Testing water permeability: For the case of ECOPHALT mixture, in-situ water permeability shall be used after completing the pavement. Other tests Client shall instruct constractor after completing the pavement. 9.Test and inspection   Testing: For the case of ECOPHALT mixture, test record from the constructor shall be used. Regarding manufacturing, Client can do intermediate test during the manufacturing to verify the quality. Inspection: Visual inspection will be carried out by inspectors from the Client. 10.Others   Considering that ECOPHALT mixture is porous, transportation distance needs to be less than 40km and the transportation time has to be within 1 hour.
