| |
applied for asphalt mixture in normal
temperature. |
2. Summary |
| |
All pavements are under external pressure which causes
gradual deterioration. All pavements deteriorate graudally due to external
pressure. This calls for additional costly repair operation. External pressures
can arise from various minor factors such as the change in temperature, size of
traffic, weather, and internal stucture of pavements. Pavement deterioration can
make various forms such as cracks, erosions, etc. All the above problems arise
due to pavement deterioration. In metropolitan areas, pavement deterioration
arise from the laying of water-pipes underground, which is the also the main
cause for road reconstruction. The more city expands, the more frequent is the
construction of underground facilities such as water pipes. Thus, this calls for
more emergency construction measures for hazards such as sudden road oxidation,
asphalt bleeding, and road aggregation. Therefore, with the hot mixed asphalt
for normal temperature pavement, the following problems of the present Hot
Asphalt Mixed Concrete could be continuously and economically enhanced. To be
more specific, various problems such construction temperature limits, road
deterioration, lack of internal pressure support, and minor emergency road
relief cost(equipment, personnel cost, traffic congestion, safety measures for
car accident prevention). . |

5. Bituminous materials
|
| |
Bituminous materials for combination should be
in compliance with general KSM 2201(asphalt for road pavement) and KSM 2206 for
open grade asphalt and road pavement, which are suitable for the kind of
pavement, operation method, traffic and weather condition. |
6. Quality of asphalt mixtures for
normal temperature |
| |
1) Mixing ratio : Aggregates tested for strength and the above standard
bituminous materials should be mixed by the standard ratio. 2) mashal
stability : It should be over 250kg/cm3 after tamping 50 times of both sides,
left for 3 days in air and 7 days in over 200kg/cm3 mashal stability. 3) As
the mixture is applied at normal temperature, vehicles should be passed
immediately after operation, and the outer part of the mixture should not be
sticky. Foreign substances of sand and earth should not be spread after the
construction, and the mixture surface should not be whitened as time passes.
4) Even after 6 months from keeping period, it should not be hardened or
maintain adhesive power. 5) Mixture standard |

9. Examination and inspection
|
| |
1) Examination : By test record of the
manufacturer of asphalt mixture for normal temperature The designated institute
may perform a middle test in the course of manufacturing to check the quality
and standards of manufacturing. 2) Inspection :
Sense test by the inspector of the designated institute |
